Jillian Foraker, LCSW

Founder, Therapist & Clinical Supervisor

I'm the founder of Tuckahoe Counseling and a licensed clinical social worker based in Richmond, Virginia. I completed my graduate training at Virginia Commonwealth University and care deeply about creating a therapy space that feels steady, supportive, and real. I work with adults, children, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, and the many transitions that come with life.

My approach draws on CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS-informed practices, and family systems work to help clients slow down, understand their patterns, and build practical tools that actually fit their life. I also provide clinical supervision and mentorship to emerging therapists across our practice. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel steady, collaborative, and genuinely helpful.

Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me at a live music show, exploring new places, lost in a book, or spending time with family. I'm also newly diving into pottery and find that same curiosity for slowing down carries into my work with clients.

I work with:

  • Children and adolescents navigating anxiety, big emotions, and behavioral challenges

  • College students and young adults managing stress and life transitions

  • Adults navigating burnout, relationships, and major life changes

  • Families working through conflict, communication, and connection

  • Parents looking for support and practical tools

Areas of focus:

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation

  • ADHD and attention challenges

  • Family systems and parent work

  • Life transitions and burnout

  • Clinical supervision for emerging therapists

Anne Forrester Hogge, LPC

Therapist

I'm Anne Forrester Hogge, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background in both education and mental health. I'm especially drawn to working with parents and caregivers carrying more than their share, as well as tweens, teenagers, and young adults still finding their footing.

With degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia Tech and years spent as a school counselor, I have a distinct understanding of how children grow and what they need from the adults around them. My approach draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused methods. Most importantly,, it is always tailored to the person sitting across from me.

I also offer parent coaching and counseling, and if Jillian is working with your child, I'm often the person walking alongside you as the parent. That partnership is something we believe in deeply at Tuckahoe Counseling.

Outside of the therapy room, I'm most myself on a run, sailing, lost in a book, or supporting my kids with their activities and passions.

I work with:

  • Tweens, teenagers, and young adults navigating life stress, and anxiety

  • Parents and caregivers experiencing burnout or family strain

  • Adults ready to heal attachment wounds and move beyond unhelpful relationship patterns

  • Couples working through communication and connection

Areas of focus:

  • Anxiety and burnout

  • Attachment wounds and relationship patterns

  • Family stress and parenting support

  • Life transitions

I see clients in person in Richmond and via telehealth throughout Virginia.

Callie

Thera-pup

Hi, I'm Callie, the therapy dog at Tuckahoe Counseling. After many hours of training with my human, Jillian, I learned how to offer a calm, comforting presence. That might mean resting quietly nearby, bringing a little lightness into the room, or simply being there when things feel hard.

These days, I'm easing into a slower pace and visit the office less often while I work on a few things at home, mostly resting and perfecting my napping. It turns out eating too fast has some consequences, and the office air quality needed a break. I'm learning my skills right alongside you. But when I do stop by, I love being part of the team and sharing a bit of calm along the way.

I work with:

  • Anyone who needs a little extra calm

  • People who think they don't like dogs (I'm working on them)

  • Clients who appreciate a good nap energy in the room

Areas of focus:

  • Sitting very still and looking wise

  • Accepting pets as a therapeutic intervention

  • Knowing when to show up and when to stay home

  • Eating slower (a work in progress)
